Revelation
|
| 1:6 |
". . . and has made us
kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion
forever and ever. Amen." |
| 1:9-10 |
9.
"I, John, both your brother and companion in tribulation,
and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that
is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's
Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, . . ." |
| 1:13-18 |
13.
". . . and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the
Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the
chest with a golden band.
14. His head and His hair were white
like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
15. His feet were like fine brass, as
if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;
16. He had in His right hand seven stars,
out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was
like the sun shining in its strength.
17. And when I saw Him, I fell at His
feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do
not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
18. "I am He who lives, and was
dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of
Hades and of Death." |

1.
"To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, `These things
says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the
midst of the seven golden lampstands:
2. "I know your works, your labor,
your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have
tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them
liars;
3. "and you have persevered and
have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become
weary.
4. "Nevertheless I have this against
you, that you have left your first love.
5. "Remember therefore from where
you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to
you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place unless you repent.
6. "But this you have, that you
hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7. "He who has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give
to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of
God.'' '
8. "And to the angel of the church
in Smyrna write, `These things says the First and the Last, who was dead,
and came to life:
9. "I know your works, tribulation,
and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who
say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
10. "Do not fear any of those things
which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some
of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation
ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11. "He who has an ear, let him
hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not
be hurt by the second death.'' '
12. "And to the angel of the church
in Pergamos write, `These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword:
13. "I know your works, and where
you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and
did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful
martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
14. "But I have a few things against
you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who
taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to
eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
15. "Thus you also have those who
hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16. `Repent, or else I will come to you
quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
17. "He who has an ear, let him
hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will
give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone,
and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who
receives it.'' '
18. "And to the angel of the church
in Thyatira write, `These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like
a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass:
19. "I know your works, love, service,
faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than
the first.
20. "Nevertheless I have a few things
against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a
prophetess, to teach and beguile My servants to commit sexual immorality
and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
21. "And I gave her time to repent
of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.
22. "Indeed I will cast her into
a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation,
unless they repent of their deeds.
23. "And I will kill her children
with death. And all the churches shall know that I am He who searches
the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to
your works.
24. "But to you I say, and to the
rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, and who have not
known the depths of Satan, as they call them, I will put on you no other
burden.
25. "But hold fast what you have
till I come.
26. "And he who overcomes, and keeps
My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations
27. `He shall rule them with a rod of
iron; as the potter's vessels shall be broken to pieces' as I also have
received from My Father;
28. "and I will give him the morning
star.
29. "He who has an ear, let him
hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'' ' |

1.
"And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, `These things
says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I
know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are
dead.
2. "Be watchful, and strengthen
the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your
works perfect before God.
3. "Remember therefore how you have
received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch,
I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will
come upon you.
4. "You have a few names even in
Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me
in white, for they are worthy.
5. "He who overcomes shall be clothed
in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life;
but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
6. "He who has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches.'' '
7. "And to the angel of the church
in Philadelphia write, `These things says He who is holy, He who is true,
"He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and
shuts and no one opens'':
8. "I know your works. See, I have
set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little
strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
9. "Indeed I will make those of
the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie indeed
I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I
have loved you.
10. "Because you have kept My command
to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall
come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
11. "Behold, I come quickly! Hold
fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
12. "He who overcomes, I will make
him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And
I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My
God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And
I will write on him My new name.
13. "He who has an ear, let him
hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'' '
14. "And to the angel of the church
of the Laodiceans write, `These things says the Amen, the Faithful and
True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
15. "I know your works, that you
are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16. "So then, because you are lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.
17. "Because you say, `I am rich,
have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' and do not know that you
are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked
18. "I counsel you to buy from Me
gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that
you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed;
and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
19. "As many as I love, I rebuke
and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
20. "Behold, I stand at the door
and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in
to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
21. "To him who overcomes I will
grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with
My Father on His throne.
22. "He who has an ear, let him
hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'' ' '' |
| 5:9-14 |
9.
"And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to
take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed
us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10. and have made us kings and priests
to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.''
11. Then I looked, and I heard the voice
of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders;
and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands
of thousands,
12. saying with a loud voice: "Worthy
is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and
strength and honor and glory and blessing!''
13. And every creature which is in heaven
and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all
that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and
power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!''
14. Then the four living creatures said,
"Amen!'' And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who
lives forever and ever." |
| 12:10-11 |
10.
"Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation,
and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ
have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our
God day and night, has been cast down.
11. "And they overcame him by the
blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not
love their lives to the death." |
| 13:8 |
"And all who dwell on the
earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book
of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." |
| 19:16 |
"And He has on His robe
and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." |
| 20 |
1.
"Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key
to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent
of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
3. and he cast him into the bottomless
pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive
the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these
things he must be released for a little while.
4. And I saw thrones, and they sat on
them, and judgment was committed to them. And I saw the souls of those
who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,
who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his
mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned
with Christ for a thousand years.
5. But the rest of the dead did not live
again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6. Blessed and holy is he who has part
in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but
they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a
thousand years.
7. Now when the thousand years have expired,
Satan will be released from his prison
8. and will go out to deceive the nations
which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them
together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.
9. They went up on the breadth of the
earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And
fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
10. And the devil, who deceived them,
was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false
prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11. Then I saw a great white throne and
Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.
And there was found no place for them.
12. And I saw the dead, small and great,
standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened,
which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their
works, by the things which were written in the books.
13. The sea gave up the dead who were
in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And
they were judged, each one according to his works.
14. Then Death and Hades were cast into
the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15. And anyone not found written in the
Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." |
| 21 |
1.
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
2. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New
Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned
for her husband.
3. And I heard a loud voice from heaven
saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell
with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with
them and be their God.
4. "And God will wipe away every
tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying;
and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.''
5. Then He who sat on the throne said,
"Behold, I make all things new.'' And He said to me, "Write,
for these words are true and faithful.''
6. And He said to me, "It is done!
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of
the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7. "He who overcomes shall inherit
all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8. "But the cowardly, unbelieving,
abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all
liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death.''
9. Then one of the seven angels who had
the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked
with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.''
10. And he carried me away in the Spirit
to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem,
descending out of heaven from God,
11. having the glory of God. And her
light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
12. Also she had a great and high wall
with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on
them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13. three gates on the east, three gates
on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.
14. Now the wall of the city had twelve
foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the
Lamb.
15. And he who talked with me had a gold
reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
16. And the city is laid out as a square,
and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with
the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are
equal.
17. Then he measured its wall: one hundred
and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of
an angel.
18. And the construction of its wall
was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
19. And the foundations of the wall of
the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation
was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20. the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius,
the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase,
the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
21. And the twelve gates were twelve
pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city
was pure gold, like transparent glass.
22. But I saw no temple in it, for the
Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23. And the city had no need of the sun
or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and
the Lamb is its light.
24. And the nations of those who are
saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their
glory and honor into it.
25. Its gates shall not be shut at all
by day (there shall be no night there).
26. And they shall bring the glory and
the honor of the nations into it.
27. But there shall by no means enter
it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only
those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life." |
| 22 |
1.
"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as
crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2. In the middle of its street, and on
either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits,
each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were
for the healing of the nations.
3. And there shall be no more curse,
but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants
shall serve Him.
4. They shall see His face, and His name
shall be on their foreheads.
5. And there shall be no night there:
They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light.
And they shall reign forever and ever.
6. Then he said to me, "These words
are faithful and true.'' And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His
angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
7. "Behold, I am coming quickly!
Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.''
8. Now I, John, saw and heard these things.
And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the
angel who showed me these things.
9. Then he said to me, "See that
you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren
the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.''
10. And he said to me, "Do not seal
the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.
11. "He who is unjust, let him be
unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous,
let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.''
12. "And behold, I am coming quickly,
and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
13. "I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.''
14. Blessed are those who do His commandments,
that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through
the gates into the city.
15. But outside are dogs and sorcerers
and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and
practices a lie.
16. "I, Jesus, have sent My angel
to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the
Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.''
17. And the Spirit and the bride say,
"Come!'' And let him who hears say, "Come!'' And let him who
thirsts come. And whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
18. For I testify to everyone who hears
the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things,
God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
19. and if anyone takes away from the
words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from
the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written
in this book.
20. He who testifies to these things
says, "Surely I am coming quickly.'' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
be with you all. Amen." |
